3M Scotchgard is a super power fabric, carpet, textiles and upholstery protector. Scotchgard was a household name when I was a kid. To 'Scotchgard', became a verb, meaning to spray with Scotchgard to protect the fabric. Scotchgard is now made with a new environmenally friendly formula. Environmental groups, including the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) have been warning us about chlorofluorocarbons, including fluorochemical compounds known as Perfluorooctane Sulfonate (PFOS) and Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA). PFOS and PFOA are found in spray chemicals, cleaners and health and beauty aids. PFOS and PFOA have been shown to negatively impact wildlife and habitats.
